The location and convenience to the city. The courtyard was very relaxing. Southern charm. Even though it was in the city, it was very quiet and comfortable. One felt as though they were in the country.
Lamp repairs needed.
the design of the hotel and location
the room was a little too small and no bath tub and no parking
The only negative was the garbage trucks that arrived at 6 am and made a lot of noise until 7 am. Otherwise great!
It was pricey but a very nice room. Excellent location!
Location to shopping and restaurants
The room, #25, was not one for a restful night. We were right next to the back door and kitchen of a restaurant that was noisy after 11;00 pm with clean up and bottles clanging. Too much light in the room for sleeping from outside both from the window and door. For a a B&B the breakfast was skimpy as well.
Room was beautiful!
Coffee maker broken, no coffee, cream, or sugar provided.
Bed was great. Very nice room. Great Piazza for wine&cheese and breakfast
The room was very clean and pleasant. Thank you! The breakfast was adequate but not special. The wine tasting would have been nicer without the plastic cups. (I looked but did not attend.) I'm sure using glasses outdoors is an issue but I don't like plastic cups. The staff was very nice. The words and phrases above are not very good choices. I'd say the Elliott House has an excellent location, clean facilities, charming courtyard, and a friendly, helpful and courteous staff.
While the accommodations were lovely and conveniently located, it lacked the homey hospitality and personalized charm of a true B&B. I felt that the B&B title was a bit misleading as the breakfast was underwhelming and the atmosphere was more like and inn or hotel.
Very comfortable bed, located centrally in the historic district of Charleston. Easy walking distance to many attractions. Friendly, attentive staff. Beautiful historic building with pretty courtyard. Breakfast delivered to your room or the courtyard as requested. Simple but good quality continental breakfast. Wine and cheese reception. Concierge services for tour tickets.Convenient parking lot across the street from the Inn. Very quiet after the next door restaurant/bars close for the evening.
The startling sounds of many glass bottles getting dumped all at once into the dumpster late at night from next door bar.
Noise, could hear people walking around upstairs, next door. Rooms very small. Run out of hot water when taking a shower. Security lock not working, Fire alarm went off, elevator out dated.
I Liked the furniture and the courtyard, bathrooms were very nice.
There was a smell in the room and on the linens that I can only describe as insecticide - I thought it was awful, it never went away, and definitely would deter me from staying there again. I don't know how this qualifies as a Bed and Breakfast rather than a small hotel - yes, we got breakfast but it was minimal and it was in our room which was cramped to accommodate eating.
They over-booked and moved us to a King room; which was thoughtful. The room was quaint in decor. The location of the Inn was excellent for site seeing, shopping and restaurants.
It makes the appearance on the web site that this is an in-house b&b, It is not! It's set up like an l ; all rooms open to the courtyard. Way over priced for the accommodations. Way too many furnishings in the king room. Hope you like hip-hop. It's played by the service staff while cleaning other rooms while you try to sleep ~ and the walls don't buffer it!
love the courtyard and use of bicycles
nicely lcoated in Charleston Historic Disrict; free breakfast
Rooms are small and not well lit. Seemed overpriced per square foot.
